About us
Schalk Liebenberg Physiotherapists INC is a registered private practice in Sandown Medical Centre, Parklands. We specialize in assessing, treating and preventing human movement disorders in all stages of life. We have a hands-on holistic approach to manage pain and injuries to the muscular, skeletal and neural components of the body through evidence-based practice. We are focused on a problem-solving approach to identify the root of the problem instead of treating the symptoms, to return our patients back to activities of daily living as quick as possible.

Practice Owner
Schalk became a physiotherapist due to his love of interacting with people and helping them in a holistic manner.
He graduated from the University of Pretoria with a BSc. Physt and moved to Cape Town thereafter, where he was fortunate to work in a very sport orientated practice. He has 30 years of experience in orthopaedic and industrial injuries. He regularly assists factories with onsite assessments, work related injuries and preventative care.
In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, tennis, squash and bowls and enjoys many DIY projects around the house
Melissa Hack
Practice Manager
Melissa is a passionate and ambitious physiotherapist with a special interest in Musculoskeletal and Sport. She obtained her BSc Physiotherapy (Hons) degree from Stellenbosch University after completing her Human Life Sciences degree majoring in Psychology and Genetics. She also completed numerous courses focusing on sport, sport psychology, headaches, strapping and dry needling.
In her free time she likes volunteering at animal shelters, baking and playing Netball.
